WASPI BATTLE AGAINST INJUSTICE GOES ON

This week in Westminster I reminded the U.K. Government that the WASPI women are still waiting for justice after being robbed of their rightful pensions as their state pension age was raised with little or no notice.

Many women in my constituency of North Ayrshire and Arran and across the U.K. are suffering genuine financial hardship despite a lifetime of work. Having their pension age increased without warning is a cruel injustice that must be addressed

I urged the U.K. Minister for Women & Equalities to lobby the Chancellor to out transitional arrangements in place in the Autumn Budget to ease the hardship of the women affected. Sadly, her response was a repition of the same platitudes these woman have heard for too long.
