SECRETARY OF STATE FOR SCOTLAND’S STATEMENT ON THE SEWEL CONVENTION

June 14, 2018

Today I asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why we have heard nothing from the UK Government about how it proposes to reflect the views of the Scottish people, and the expressed view of the Scottish Parliament following the EU Withdrawal Bill riding roughshod over the devolution settlement.

I also queried if he thought this reflected the “respect agenda” we heard so much about during the 2014 referendum.

And we should all be concerned about his inability to distinguish between the SNP, the Scottish Government and the Scottish Parliament.
