STEVENSTON EMPLOYMENT FAYRE A HUGE SUCCESS
On Friday, I hosted an Employment Fayre at Ardeer Neighbourhood Centre in Stevenston. The event brought together over 50 businesses and employers together with local job seekers.
Both national and local companies participated to help provide an opportunity for people of all ages to meet employers with vacancies, as well as organisations who help people into work.
Speaking after the event, Mrs Gibson said:
“Last Friday’s Employment Fayre was hugely successful, and I was delighted to see so many businesses actively recruiting on the day. Over 500 people attended, including many senior school pupils, students, those seeking training and those with years of work experience.
“This was a terrific opportunity for employers and people looking for meaningful employment to be together under one roof. The feedback on the day from both employers and attendees has been very positive and I am pleased this event gave so many people a chance to speak to employers and potentially secure work.
“I want to thank everyone who helped make this event such a success, from the employers and organisations, to all the people who came along and of course to those volunteers who helped publicise it.
“Events like this can only help people find jobs, while introducing others to careers that they might not have previously considered. For those seeking work, that initial contact with an employer is essential and can be instrumental in securing formal interviews, job offers and apprenticeships.”
