ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND CLOSURES

Yesterday I had the opportunity to participate in a short debate on the recent round of RBS closures which will result in the closure of branches in Kilwinning, Kilbirnie and Saltcoats.

The fact is that the management of RBS has completely misjudged the public mood on this issue and has failed to understand the sense of betrayal felt by our communities. The taxpayer owns 73% of this bank after bailing it out. It is now abandoning our communities whilst continuing to pay millions of pounds in bonuses to executives. I will continue to voice the concerns of my constituents in North Ayrshire & Arran on this issue.
