I am very concerned about and deeply disappointed by the latest round of bank closures across North Ayrshire, namely in Kilbirnie, Saltcoats, and Kilwinning.
The speed of bank closures across Scotland has caused great alarm. Bank closures have been raised in the Commons by the SNP directly with the Prime Minister who, disappointingly said that branch closures were a decision “for individual banks themselves to take and consider”.
Last Monday I wrote to the Chief Executive of RBS, Ross McEwan, to express my disappointment and urge him to reconsider these closures but, judging from past experience, I suspect that this will fall on deaf ears. You can see a copy of my letter below.
