Today I really enjoyed volunteering with Food Train North Ayrshire.
This fantastic service provides weekly deliveries of fresh groceries to older people experiencing difficulties doing their weekly grocery shopping, ensuring they can eat and live well.
With local Stevenston Cllr Davina McTiernan, and volunteers Laurie and Jim, we packed the shopping orders, before delivering them to customers in Saltcoats and Ardrossan.
It was also good to stop for a blether and it was great to meet Mrs Bell and her lovely wee cat, Roxy.
This service relies on its dedicated and committed volunteers and thanks also to Regional Manager Marri Welsh for telling myself and Cllr McTiernan all about this great service and how it is thriving and helping so many older people in our communities right across North Ayrshire
