I was delighted to attend the parade and crowning of the Saltcoats Sea Queen on Saturday with local Councillors Davina McTiernan and Jean McClung SNP.

It was a very wet and cold day but the Royal Party, who looked fantastic in all their finery, did a grand job without a word of complaint about the awful weather. Neither did the terrible weather put off the good people of Saltcoats who turned out to support the parade and applaud the crowning.

This year's Saltcoats Sea Queen saw the crowning of Queen Teegan Campbell and Captain Joseph Buttle.

Huge congratulations to the Committee for all their hard work in putting this event together over many months. Without their dedication this event simply would not happen.

Looking forward to next year's already!
