CAFE SOLACE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES IN KILBIRNIE
On Friday 30 June 2017, I was honoured to officially opened Café Solace in Kilbirnie
Café Solace in Kilbirnie is a café for the community run by volunteers in recovery. So if you are in your recovery journey why not consider volunteering in the Café where you will meet and have the support of others in recovery and have access to training.
Café Solace already has two very successful cafes in Ardrossan and Irvine where everyone in the community can head along for a great meal for only £1.70.
I have been proud over recent weeks to work the volunteers, such as Steph McCutcheon, Recovery Development Worker, and others, and look forward to continuing this work. On Friday 30 June, Steph was displaying the Ayrshire Achieves, Volunteer of the Year Award won just the previous night.
Councillor Anthea Dickson has been particularly active in supporting the establishment of all three cafés.
So, whether it’s for a low cost good quality meal or to find out more about support in North Ayrshire, head along to Café Solace – Your café, Oor café, Everybody’s café!
Café Solace is at Fullarton Connexions, Church Street, Irvine every Tuesday from 5-8pm, and The Church of the Nazarene, 150 Glasgow Street, Ardrossan every Wednesday 5-8pm and Bridgend Community Centre Kilbirnie 5-7.30pm.
