Last year's Ardrossan Castle Carnival was so fantastic, I knew the organisers would have their work cut out to make 2017's Carnival even better. But, somehow, they managed it.
It seemed to be even busier than last year, with great fun for all the family with lots to do and see. A real treat for children who always have a great time.
I really enjoyed meeting up with friends old and new such as Maria Paterson-Kidd, and her granddaughter and my wee pal, Ami; Paul Payne was working his balloon magic so very much enjoyed by all the children, the lovely Suzanne Fernando and her husband, Kester Fernando; community stalwart and all-round good guy, Michael McCulloch; Councillors Davina McTiernan and Jean McClung and, of course, Kenneth Gibson MSP. In fact there are too many names to mention!
It truly was a fantastic day with live pipe bands, jousting and lovely period costumes.
I said it last year and I will say it again, I cannot wait for it to happen all over again next year! Well done to all the community organisers who work so hard, preparing all year round to make sure this is a huge success. Thank you for all your hard work!
