SNP Government’s record investment in our railways

SNP Government’s record investment in our railways
The SNP Government is investing twice the per capita UK average in improving Scotland’s railways, new figures show.
Said Patricia Gibson: "Under the SNP Government and despite the financial challenges of cuts to Scotland’s budget over the last decade, the SNP Government has invested heavily in rail infrastructure and improved the number of rail services from 2,090 to 2,450 (17%) and rolling stock from 251 trains to 322 (28%). This recognises the valuable contribution our railways make to the Scottish economy, taking pressure off our roads and helping the environment. Here in Ayrshire, services are now more reliable, frequent with more modern longer trains and better lit and longer more accessible platforms. The SNP is committed to continuing to improve our rail network.”
