SHIFTING GOAL POSTS
It is clear that the powers that be will do a great deal to keep Scotland in the Union.
We only have to look at recent history in 1979 when Scotland voted by 51.6% to 48.3% for a devolved parliament. We were told then that this was such a big decision that the threshold was not high enough. The vote was too low for a devolved parliament to proceed.
Fast forward to 2016 when the UK votes to leave the EU by a margin of 51.8% to 48.1%. Apparently the result is indisputable. The people have spoken. We have to leave the EU.
