On 30 March, Patricia spoke in a debate on animal welfare, an issue of great concern to so many.

Patricia argues that there must be tougher custodial sentences for those convicted on wilful animal cruelty. She mentions that there is a strong correlation between violence towards animals and violence towards other people.

Patricia states that animals have no voice, so we must protect them under the law more vigorously. How we protect animals and promote their welfare is a mark of a civilised society.
