Mobile Community Cinema Launched in Ardrossan

MOBILE COMMUNITY CINEMA LAUNCHED IN ARDROSSAN

I was delighted to attend the launch of the Mobile Community Cinema in Ardrossan's Church of the Nazarene at the weekend.

The equipment was supplied by the SNP Government's Digital Inclusion Team and the work to set everything up was carried out by local volunteers led by Craig Crosthwaite and North Ayrshire Foodbank.

This mobile cinema offers access for all to a cinematic experience, especially those who can least afford it.

Thanks to Scottish Government programmes, North Ayrshire Foodbank now has equipment to make its own films and one employee through Community Jobs Scotland.

The launch of the mobile cinema was a real success with a great community atmosphere and very family friendly. The first film shown was "Trolls", a hit with both young and not so young! The only thing missing on the night was the presence of Craig Crosthwaite who was sadly unwell but who was the driver behind this important community initiative. Get well soon, Craig!
