COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT MEETING

On Thursday 26 January, I chaired a meeting on the Community Empowerment Bill in Saltcoats Town Hall.

This meeting was very well attended by community councillors, school board members, community activists and councillors from across North Ayrshire & Arran constituency and was addressed by Kevin Stewart MSP, Minister for Local Government.

The Minister explained the provisions of the Bill and answered questions for over an hour from the floor about how local groups could use and harness the provisions in this Bill to improve their own communities.
