Making the Case for the Ardrossan Ferry

I contributed to two important meetings with Humza Yousaf MSP, Minister for Transport & the Islands, with Kenneth Gibson MSP, in December and then with representatives of the Ardrossan business community and the Isle of Arran Ferry Committee. We impressed upon the Minister the importance of keeping the Ardrossan to Brodick ferry route. These meetings followed on from the meeting on 16th December with senior Council Officials at North Ayrshire Council.

The Troon option is simply not a viable option and will have an adverse effect on the economies of both Ardrossan and Arran.

A decision on this is expected by the end of Feb/beginning of March 2017. I am confident of the case for keeping this route as it has been for over 182 years, but it is important to keep on making the case and keeping this campaign alive. That is why Kenneth Gibson and I have been out with other SNP activists in recent weeks collecting signatures for a petition we will be presenting to the Minister.

The campaign will continue.
