Save Our Ferry Meeting

Recently I attended and spoke at a SAVE OUR FERRY meeting in Ardrossan Civic Centre in Ardrossan.

This meeting was attended by 219 local residents who are all very concerned about the bid from Associated British Ports to run Arran ferry from Troon.

The campaign to save the Ardrossan ferry continues and I continue to lobby hard to achieve this end. Many local residents may have seen me with other SNP activists out collecting petition signatures in Saltcoats Dockhead Street and at Ardrossan Asda, to ensure local voices are heard in this process.

If you have not signed this petition you can do so online by visiting https://www.change.org/p/north-ayrshire-council-keep-the-brodick-to-ardrossan-route or by dropping into my constituency office at 78 Princes Street in Ardrossan (opening hours - Mon-Fri - 9am-12:30 and 1:30pm-5:30) and signing a paper copy of the petition. Make your voice heard!

The Arran ferry has sailed from Ardrossan for 182 years and with good reason. It is the shortest crossing point which means increased capacity and lower fares. Keeping the service within North Ayrshire also means a smoother delivery of local government services across the local authority area.

As a community we must all continue to make the case for keeping the ferry crossing to Arran in Ardrossan.
