Paralympic Winner, Abbey Kane, Wins Award

I recently had the honour in Westminster, of presenting Largs' very own Paralympic winner, Abby Kane with a Kids Count UK Award for Most Inspirational Young Person.

I had the opportunity before officially presenting Abby with her award, to chat to her. She is indeed a wonderful young woman who is unassuming and extremely dedicated to her sport.

Her drive and determination to reach her full potential is an inspiration to us all. Her winning a silver medal for her 100m backstroke in the S13 category in Rio is the culmination of years of training and hard work. Abby only turned 13 years old in August this year, making her amongst the youngest competitors in the Paralympics.

I am sure that Abby will continue to distinguish herself in her sport and whatever else she turns her hand to. It was a delight to meet her and present her with this very well-deserved award.
