It was lovely to attend the Ayrshire College Graduation in Kilwinning last week to see all the students celebrating the end of all their hard work and enjoy their lovely ceremony in the grand surroundings of Abbey Church.
With all the good folk of Kilwinning lining the streets to congratulate the graduates after the ceremony, it was a real community occasion. Then it was back to the college for a cranberry juice and a buffet lunch with all the graduates and their rightly proud families.
I was delighted to meet up again with Principal Heather Dunk and Chair of the Board of Management, Willie Mackie, who work so hard on behalf of all the students.
After struggling into my own graduation robe - something I have not done since I graduated 25 years ago (where has the time gone????) - it was good to meet up with local Kilwinning Councillor John Ferguson.
It was a lovely day and I am so glad I attended. Can't wait until next year!
