HMS Dasher - 73rd Anniversary

I was truly honoured today to once again attend the commemoration service to remember the 379 men who were lost off the coast of Ardrossan in 1943, when HMS Dasher sank. This year is the 73rd anniversary of this terrible tragedy.

Every year in Ardrossan there is a service of remembrance for all the Ship's Company of HMS Dasher to assure those survivors, all the family members and relatives still with us, that we keep those who were lost in our memories and our prayers.

It is important to remember and retell the story of the loss of this ship and all those who went down with her.
