Scotland's VAT Bill for Emergency Services


Patricia pointed out, during an Estimates Debate on the police funding formula on Tuesday 01 March, that Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service are the only emergency services in the UK who are unable to recover VAT. This bill amounts to approximately £25m, diverts funding away from front line services, and fails to strike a fair deal for Scotland.
