Women's State Pension Equalisation

Following a recent debate on Women's State Pension Equalisation, Patricia met with campaigners from the group Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI). Patricia commented:

"These dignified and excellent campaigners have worked very hard to have the injustice of women having to work for two, three, four or even five years longer before they receive their pensions. Former Pensions Minister, Steve Webb, admitted that the Goverment did not give women affected by this measure enough notice or information and DWP research backs this up. Now these women find their retirement plans in ruins, often after a lifetime of low pay and inequality in the workplace. Shocking! No one is opposed to equalisation of pension age but the women affected deserved and needed the information to make proper arrangements to prepare for this measure and they simply did not receive it".
