Ferry Strike Called Off As Sturgeon Steps In

I am pleased to say that, after constructive talks between trade unions and the Scottish Government, today's ferry strike has been called off.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has become personally involved in talks and given assurances to trade unions that their demands will be looked at favourably. The Scottish Government has also agreed to delay the tendering process to allow time for further negotiations and for all parties to work towards a final outcome.
